Tabletop Tuesday: It’s Tuesday the 13th! (5/13)

Gamers playing Pulsar 2849

On May 13th in 1637, Cardinal Richelieu of France had his servants file the sharp points off the house knives because he was tired of the ill manners some of his table guests displayed, stabbing meat and picking their teeth with their dinner daggers. And thus, the table knife was invented. What better way to celebrate than join us for dinner, drinks, and games at Nellie’s in Palatine? Maybe you can play a dinner-themed game, perhaps Donner Dinner Party, or maybe a game about Renaissance Europe like Royals? Either way, you’ll have fun and camaraderie as you do so. Join us from 6pm – 11pm upstairs!

Raise Your Game with Game of the Week!

Each week for the next three months, toggle will feature a “Game of the Week,” showcasing games in our collection that have been donated by publishers to toggle gaming. This week we’ll be playing Leaf from Weird City Games. Come check it out!

On the Table

Recently at toggle, we’ve played Rurik: Dawn of Kiev, The King is Dead, Pulsar 2849, Rummikub, Brian Boru, King of Tokyo, Terraforming Mars and more!

Some games we played last week

Things to Expect at Toggle Gaming:

  • A Huge library – try games from our library of 400+ titles or bring your own!
  • Great Drinks and Food – Our host pub, Nellie’s, has a great selection of beers and other drinks, as well as a menu of tasty food, whether you’re looking for a snack or a meal. (Please do not bring outside food or drink.)
  • A Welcoming Environment – We at [toggle Gaming] welcome anyone and everyone to our game table. Whether you’re new to the hobby or a die-hard grognard, we’d love for you to join us!
