What a delightful, weird world it will be, meeting on a Wednesday! Come join us as we try out the new digs and figure out what a Wednesday Game Night feels like. (First order of business — what do we call it? We considered Wabletop Wednesday, but that didn’t quite work.) We will have some refreshments, but feel free to bring food and beverage for yourself if you like. Join us at Lutheran Church of the Cross (2025 S. Goebbert Rd, Arlington Heights) on WEDNESDAY, November 12, from 6pm to 11pm for fun and games.
What’s with the new place and day?
Here are answers to a couple questions we’ve had so far.
- Why the move?
There were lots of factors, but the bottom line is that Nellie’s wasn’t a great fit any more, for us or for them. We aren’t ruling out going back at some point, but for now, we needed to find another venue. LCC has a big, room we can use, with lots of tables, clean bathrooms, and great lighting.
We are grateful for the wonderful times we had at Nellies, and will always appreciate them for helping us grow and mold this club into something wonderful. - Is this group turning religious?
No. We picked LCC because the church’s values fit very well with the community-building values at the heart of toggle. But they are also very happy with us holding a secular event at the church. We aren’t there to be preached at or recruited for the church. We do hope that some of church members will join us to play games, though. We understand some of our members aren’t keen on going to a church, and we’ll do our best to make sure we stay welcoming for everyone. - Can I still eat and drink?
Yes! We can bring in food and drink (including alcohol), as long as we’re respectful of the space and clean up after ourselves. We will explore a variety of ways for the refreshments to work — help us out with your ideas! - Will there still be a game library available?
Yes! LCC generously gave us space to store our library, so we have the same collection we’ve always had.

On the Table
Recently at toggle, we’ve played Patrician, Twisted Cryptids, Cities, Pandemic: Fall of Rome, Up or Down?, Clank!, Betrayal at House on the Hill, and more!
Things to Expect at Toggle Gaming:
- A Huge library – try games from our library of 400+ titles or bring your own!
- Great Drinks and Food – Our host pub, Nellie’s, has a great selection of beers and other drinks, as well as a menu of tasty food, whether you’re looking for a snack or a meal. (Please do not bring outside food or drink.)
- A Welcoming Environment – We at [toggle Gaming] welcome anyone and everyone to our game table. Whether you’re new to the hobby or a die-hard grognard, we’d love for you to join us!
- Designers ahoy – We have quite a few designers who come to Tabletop Tuesday with prototypes to try. Maybe you’ll play the next CANVAS in prototype form!
