[toggle Gaming] presents: Pot Luck and Tabletop gaming upstairs at the Palatine American Legion, Post 690 (122 Palatine Rd, Palatine, IL 60067). Join us on 19 November 2019 from 6pm to 11pm. Bring some donations for their Veterans Exiting Homelessness Essentials drive, too!
Donation Drive: Veterans Exiting Homelessness
The American Legion is running a donation drive to gather Move-In Essentials for Veterans Exiting Homelessness. When you come to Tabletop Tuesday at the Legion, please bring donations of some of these items:
Pot Luck
The American Legion does not have food service (though they do sell beverages at the bar downstairs), so it’s a great opportunity to share food with one another! Bring your appetite and a dish to share! We encourage you to buy beverages at the bar rather than bringing them, if you can.
Featured Game of the Week:
Expancity
Collaborate and cooperate to build a thriving metropolis block by block!
Donated by Breaking Games
Taught by Brendan Riley
Expancity Work with other players to build a city! Lay down residential and commercial tiles, then claim them with your stackable building blocks to break ground on towers that will rise high above the playing field. Score extra points by building near common city buildings like banks, schools, and parks. You can also get a leg up on the opposition by working on secretly-held contract cards that offer players unique and challenging tasks to complete for bonus points. Cities expand both horizontally and vertically as the game progresses, and no two cities will ever be alike!
Lots of great games! At Tabletop Tuesday, 60-100 people meet each week to play all sorts of different games. Recent titles played at the event include Above and Below, Camel Up!, Fire Tower, Mountains of Madness, Riot Quest, Sentinels of the Multiverse, Suburbia, and many more! Alas, we do not have access to our library, so if you have games you can bring to share, please do so! If not – no worries, there will be plenty of games.
Designers welcome! Tabletop Tuesday has a healthy community of designers who bring prototypes to try. If you’re going to join them, you should plan to play other peoples’ games, but you’re also welcome to bring yours as well.
Play all evening! We play from 6:00 until 11:00pm. But you don’t need to be there the whole time. Many members leave early or arrive late. If you’re looking to play something specific — especially a “heavier” game that might take a little preparation, head over to our Facebook page to pre-arrange your game.
Families welcome! While [toggle Gaming] is an adult event held at a bar, feel welcome to bring your children with you. Our library has many family friendly games, and we almost always have at least a couple under-18 gamers joining us in the summer months.
Come by, grab a pint, roll some dice, play some cards, collect some cubes, watch some flicks, see familiar faces, and make new friends.
If you’re a member of Chicago Game Lovers (http://www.meetup.com/chicagogames/) as well, be sure to RSVP to the meetup there too we can tell the members there how much fun we have!
