It’s a great day when we get to gather for games. It’s even better when we get to welcome new members, and try new games. All three of those things are happening this week at toggle Gaming. It’s the first meeting of August, so it’s new member welcome night. Some of us just got back from Gencon, so we’re “welcoming” new games as well. And beyond all that, of course, we’re just happy to play some games together. We meet from 6pm to 11pm at LCC (2025 S Goebbert Road, Arlington Heights). Join us, won’t you?
Generosity at GenCon
Each year, toggle organizers visit with publishers at Gencon. We share with them how much their games have meant to us, how they’re doing, and, sometimes, see if they’re willing to donate some games to our library. We’re very thankful, this year, to have another great crop of wonderful games for the collection.
Come see them in person, starting this week!

Upcoming Special Event Nights:
Some weeks, we do something special in addition to our usual open gaming, fun movies, and more.
- New Member Welcome Night (8/5) – New members are always welcome at toggle, but we’re going to try and be a bit more gregarious on the first Wednesday of each month — a bit more likely to stay in short games people can join easily, a bit quicker to hop up and say hi, and so on. We also encourage you to bring new members on this week in particular. We’ll also offer a free soda and snack to new members and to the toggler who brought them.
- Bi-monthly Pot Luck (8/12) – On the second Wednesday of each even month, we indulge in the classic midwestern tradition of Pot Luck. Bring some tasty food to share and dig in!
- August Birthday Celebration (8/19) – If you were born in August, in the deep of summer, come on out and celebrate your birthday with us! We’ll bring a treat.

- A Huge library – try games from our library of 400+ titles or bring your own!
- Bring Food and Drinks – Our host, LCC, allows us to bring whatever food and drink we like, as long as we clean up after ourselves. Sometimes we arrange specific food events (see above for details).
- A Welcoming Environment – We at [toggle Gaming] welcome anyone and everyone to our game table. Whether you’re new to the hobby or a die-hard grognard, we’d love for you to join us!
- Designers ahoy – We have quite a few designers who come to [toggle Gaming] with prototypes to try. Maybe you’ll play the next CANVAS in prototype form!
